A Brief Introduction

On this website, you will find my blogs, my previous work experience, tech tutorials, and more. I try to keep this website updated with periodic updates to my blog and tech postings (tech articles, how-to guides, and video tutorials), when my busy schedule allows. If this is your first time visiting, please read on, as I’d like to give you a brief introduction of myself.

I was born and raised in Southern California with 3 brothers and sisters. Soon after graduating from California State University, Fullerton, I decided to move to Japan for a new and very different challenge. Even though I have worked for US companies, I have been working outside of the US ever since. My past work experience consists of companies big and small, such as Abercrombie and Fitch, Wells Fargo Bank, Disneyland, Fast Retailing, Apple, and Deloitte. I also have a variety of experience in self employment, which includes providing consulting services in website/infrastructure design, project management, and running a small IT professional services company. I always enjoy a good challenge and have gained invaluable experience by taking on a variety of roles through various fields and industries over the past 15 years.

I am a techie by nature, always have been. Since the age of 9, I have been fascinated by computers, technology, and the art of how things work. It all started when my mother brought home an IBM 5150. I spent my weekends reading through the IBM BASIC user manual and teaching myself how to program BASIC. It was this that sparked my love for technology and the power of computers. Those were the days of 5 1/4 inch floppy disks with a whopping 1.2MB of disk space. It’s a bit crazy to think about that now.

More than a decade later, I still love spending my free time learning new technologies and building things. My hobbies include anything on the computer: web programming, graphic design, blogging, and playing around with new hardware/software. When I find time to get outside, I do love outdoor activities, such as snowboarding, fishing, surfing, and scuba diving. But the thing I love more than anything else, is traveling and learning about new cultures and gaining new life experiences. I also enjoy teaching subjects I have a passion for, and there are many. I maintain this website with the hope of sharing information with people all over the world. I’m a big fan of TED Talks and Khan Academy, if you haven’t heard of them, check them out! I think it’s extremely important to continually challenge and test oneself…learning and challenging oneself is to live!

My Goals and Ambitions

I strive to be the best, #1, at whatever I set out to do. I’m an extremely passionate person and I have always been self motivated, even at an early age. I am driven by challenges, and I am always looking for something new to master. I have a tradition of starting each year with a new goal. This is not only to constantly keep me motivated, but to reinforce the thinking that any goal can be achieved, if time and dedication is invested. My goal for the moment, is to teach myself the drums (2017-2018). I have always wanted to learn, so I just picked up a Roland TD-4K drum set, and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. It’s amazing what you can learn from Youtube videos these days!

In addition to my new yearly goal of teaching myself how to play the drums, I always look to constantly challenge myself, and to share my experience and knowledge with others, through the various websites and online accounts I maintain. I never view a challenge as unachievable, and I feel anyone can achieve their goals, no matter how unobtainable they may seem. Believe in yourself!
