Locked Phones and Mobile Providers

One thing I strongly recommend everyone to do when deciding on a new phone and mobile provider is to read the fine print. You don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for a phone that can end up being a paperweight in the future. Today, we are going to be talking about a company called Softbank. Read more »

Backing up your Iphone App saved game/app data

If you have multiple iOS devices, you may run into a problem of transferring apps to other devices and keeping the saved data in that game or application. A good example of this is a app called My Japanese Coach which I use from time to time. Well, I sure as heck don't want to have to go from lesson 1 all the way through lesson X to get back to where I left off. If you redownload this app from the app store you will be left with a blank slate and will have to start the game over from the beginning. Luckily there is a way to avoid this. You will want to download a software called iExplorer.

My New Iphone! How did I live without it!

It's been a while since I have posted here, so sorry to all those that were patiently waiting for an update on new tech things and the like. I know there are a whole 10 or 12 of you. But I have been extremely busy lately with work as well as all my free time consumed with playing with my new iphone and working on my food review and venue website for Japan.

So, yeah, let's talk about this iphone. Okay, yeah, I probably should have gotten one a long time ago seeing that I have always been a fan of the ipod since my days of working as a marketer for Apple. Actually I have my CLASSIC 3rd generation ipod sitting right next to me looking on his way to retirement. For those that don't remember what the 3rd gen looks like, it's the cool one with the red colored buttons (see here). I actually used it up until this week while I was at work and needed some music to tune things out while focusing on some configuration I was working on.

So I went down to Softbank, the only mobile provider in Japan allowed to resell the iphone and got it on the new campaign. 2 year contract no money down and 0 yen for the phone. Not a bad deal, I was kind of scratching my head when I saw others paying out of pocket cash for other inferior model phones, but then again, it's always personal preference. And of course, I got home and immediately loaded the device up with every free app I could get my hands on to try out. And then it was over, I spent the next 2 days glued to the iphone trying out apps, downloading apps, deleting apps. I haven't even got bored with the free ones to even purchase apps yet.
