About Me
On this website, you will find my blog, information regarding my previous work experiences and companies, online portfolio of work and clients, and my current and ongoing projects (such as my online publications, video tutorials, and how to guides). Please enjoy taking your time to browse through my site and the various areas! If this is the first time you have been to this site, I would like to take the time to give you a brief self introduction.
I am an American, born and raised in Southern California. I moved to Japan shortly after I graduated from California State University, Fullerton. I have worked for several fortune 500 companies throughout my professional career and I am currently working for Abercrombie and Fitch as their Regional IT Manager for the EMEA region. My hobbies include pretty much anything on the computer (programming, web design, gaming, blogging, etc.) and outdoor activities (snowboarding, fishing, surfing, and traveling). I also enjoy maintaining my websites and sharing information with people from all over the world.

My Ambitions and Goals
I strive to be the best at whatever I set out to do. I enjoy challenges and seek them out. I have always been self motivated, even at an early age. I am driven by a challenge, and I am always looking for something new to master and take a liking to. I have many goals in life and plan to seek them out and through. I love increasing book and worldly knowledge and learning new skills and trades. My current goals are to be a loving and nurturing father and to learn the most I can in my current job and field of study. I would also like to gain a MBA in finance or economics. For a mid to long term goal, I would like to become a VP of a successful and established company. I never view a challenge as unachievable, and I feel anyone can achieve their goals, no matter how unobtainable they may seem.
My current life updates and near future plans (last update 1.4.2013)
Several years have passed without an update, I apologize for this, life has kept me quite busy lately. I will try to update this once a year around the new year, I think that would be a great idea don't you? Well let me get you all caught up. Hmm, what has happened since 2010, quite a lot...hence the slow updates. ;)
As I am sure you are well aware, we had the Great East Japan Earthquake in March of 2011 which has a horrible event for many living in Japan. As a country we got through it and bonds grew deeper between friends, family, and strangers. I got married the following month in April to my beautiful and amazing wife Sumiyo. I was promoted at my company and will be relocating in the near future to London to change roles from APAC to the regional IT manager of the EMEA region. And just recently, I became a father!! So yes, life has been a bit busy!
Becoming a father has been an amazing experience and definitely changes ones priorities and perspectives. In the very near future, my family will be relocating to London, where I will take on my new role of regional IT manager of the EMEA region for Abercrombie and Fitch. I would be willing to bet, most will agree with me, when I say the two most stressful things in life are 1.) having your first child and 2.) moving your family (moving to a new country is just a added bonus)...and I am doing both at the same time. 2013 will definitely be a year of challenges and adventures, but I am ready for the challenges that lie ahead. My goals for this year will be simple, to survive but also to gain experience managing my new team in Europe and learn all the business and cultural differences between Asia and Europe.
I post this here, not to simply tell others, but more to have something to look back on and reassure myself that I am on the current path in life that I had once planned. As in the professional world, with no organization and planning, everything results in chaos; life is no different. Set goals and achieve them, whatever they may be, and you will find happiness in life.
Previous Years - Updates and Future Plans:
2010
I am going on my fifth year in Japan now. It has been a great experience and an interesting ride. The time just seems to fly by when you're having fun. I am currently the Regional IT Manager of Japan for Abercrombie and Fitch here in Tokyo, Japan. As I recently went to the Caribbean, my next plans for traveling will probably be the Philippines. I can't wait! I have increased my Japanese reading, writing, and speaking ability immensely from a year ago when I started taking a full time intensive course from Temple University, Japan. Working in a mixed Japanese and English environment has been a great experience as well. Learning Japanese business culture and the proper way to speak in meetings has also been a great experience. A&F is an amazing company and always full of energy, I can't say that I have ever work for a company quite like it.
So, in a nutshell, my current goals are to reach level 2 Japanese proficiency and to gain a better understanding of the Japanese business world and how things are done. I am also currently looking at purchasing property here in Japan, so wish me luck! Wouldn't it be great if this were to all to come true? Only time will tell.
Sincerely,
